Another tooth on the way!

Ryan was a little fussy this morning and we could not figure out why...I mean not overly fussy just a little whiney and clingy. I also noticed he was biting my thumb and my leg...Hmmm sure enough I flet inside his mouth and another tooth is pushing through. The top right lateral incisor. So funny I went to the gym this morning to come home and find Greg and Ryan asleep in the big chair. Ryan was asleep sucking on a mango in the self feeder (I know this is a huge no no in terms of dental caries) but Greg told me his teeth were bothering him and baby oragel was not cutting it and he really seemed to enjoy the feeling of the frozen mangoes on his sensitive gums. It was so precious. Today we took Ryan to get his 9 month photos and they came out really cute. Greg took Ryan for the rest of the day and I got to relax and get a mani/pedi and go grocery shopping sans baby. It was so weird to be out and about without him. I guess he missed me while I was gone because he was saying "ma ma" while I was out. He normally just says "Da Da" all day. I find this odd because he rarely says "ma ma" aroune me. But Polina his babysitter has told me he says "ma ma" a lot too.

So Ryan LOVES doors now he loves to open and close any kind of door and he even tries to oepn the bathroom cabinets....ha ha Ryan they are baby proofed. He finds it puzzling that he cannot open the doors. He opens and closed the door to his bedroom. This baby is going to be a climber he already climbs up pillows on the bed to touch the headboard. He shimmies his way off my lap on the couch to the floor and he even squirms out of my arms to get at things out of his reach. He is so smart he knows when he is not supposed to touch something because he will turn to me and give me devilish smile and head straight for whatever he is not supposed to be touching like the phone, the remote, the computer.

Yesterday we did a little shopping at the westchester mall. I bought Ryan a halloween costume I know it is a bit early but it was so cute and I could not resist. They had so many adorable costumes out already! We also had Caroline and her parents over for dinner. Ryan and Caroline played and we got to enjoy a very nice dinner with Sarah and Jamie. We all had such a wondeful evening. Sorry no pictures our camera wa charging :(

It was great to spend the weekend as a family something we have not done in a while. We usually have so much going on so it was nice to lay low and relax a little. Hope you are all doing well we miss you and hope to see everyone soon.

Love to all,
Ryan Alexander XOXO

Click on the link above to view pictures of Ryan from the past week. Today we had a playdate at our friend Caroline's house. She had this fantastic tunnel to crawl and the babies LOVED it! Thanks for such a fun day Sarah and Caroline! We will have to do it again really soon.

Taking baby steps (sort of .....)

Ryan Alexander has been taking baby steps while holding on to my hands for the past week or so but today he actually stood up on his ride on toy car held on to the back and began taking steps. He had a huge grin on his face the whole time I had to redirect him because he kept crashing into the couch but he took quite a few steps on his own. Ryan is happiest when he is standing upright..forget about crawling that is old news! His favorite thing to do now is "cruise" on the furniture and let go as he screeches in delight!! I am really trying hard to enjoy this precious time we have left before he actually walks because this child LOVES to be on the move it is only a matter of time now..I fear once he starts walking I will not be able to keep up I can barely keep up now this baby is FAST!

We went to a big brithday picnic yesterday to celebrate all the baby's in our playgroup who are turing one this month and next. It was really fun and we had the perfect day for a picnic. It was at our favorite park of course Sherwood.....I always get a little teary eyed as we drive up to Sherwood Island State park because it was the first beach Ryan had ever been to and we spent every Tuesday there with the girls after swim class for lunch, walks and talks. It has so many great memories for us.

Today we went to the Wednesday mom's group...we had not been there in over a month. Ryan gets into everything and it is hard for me to keep him out of everyone's stuff. But there were a lot of older babies there and it was great to see all of the babies. There were so many new little ones too. Ryan was so cute he waved "Bye Bye" to Lisa the group facilitator...my heart just melted because he will only do this on special occasions.

So after the baby steps today and the "BYE BYE" wave I am feeling so sad that our little baby is becoming such a big boy. I really want him to stay a little baby forever. He keeps me laughing all day long. Such a joy to be around. Greg and I are looking forward to having a relaxing weekend at home together as a family something we have not done in a while. Miss you all and hope to talk to you all soon.

Love.
Ryan Alexander
